How does it all work?

With no software to install and running through a standard web browser, e-collaboration and web conferencing with Umeeting is as easy as clicking a link in an email or entering the meeting access code to join a meeting.

Web meetings or online events are scheduled from your Umeeting Web Office, allowing you to set a moderation style for the meeting, assign moderator(s) and invite participants via automated email invitations.

During web meetings, participants use Umeeting's great collaboration features to stage multimedia rich events and sessions, sharing documents or even their entire desktop

Is it possible to set up online web events with Umeeting?

With Umeeting you can set up and organise live web events within minutes just like a normal web meeting. You can automatically invite attendees or make the event access code available to anybody you would like.

For larger events you can choose the 'super moderation' mode, allowing the event to be moderated just like a panel discussion.

Is Umeeting web-based? Do I need to install software to start using Umeeting?

Umeeting is a fully interactive, live and 100% web-based service.

This means that there is no costly or complicated software download, installation or maintenance. Everything is hosted on Umeeting's servers and can be accessed from virtually anywhere in the world. With Umeeting you are using the most advanced thin client communications architecture available today. This means that unlike other collaboration services, participants to your web meetings can attend the meeting without the need for large software downloads and installation, essential for flexible and versatile usage.

And because Umeeting is an open web-based platform that is fully firewall and proxy compatible, anyone can attend the event from almost anywhere in the world by simply clicking on a single web-link. It's really that easy!

Do participants access my web meetings through the Internet?

Yes. Just as yourself, all participants participate to your web meetings by simply clicking a link in the invitation email or by entering the meeting access code you have provided to them.

How do I use my Web Office?

Your Umeeting Web Office offers comprehensive and fully centralised management and administration capabilities of all your web meeting activities. Any number of web meetings can be scheduled and multiple live sessions created for each web meeting.

Subscription customers can in addition create multiple Web Offices from a central point within their organisation.

What collaboration features does Umeeting offer?

How does Umeeting's live drawing board work?

The drawing board allows participants to draw shapes and diagrams and to write related comments. In addition pictures and graphics can be loaded and then annotated.

The drawing board is live and interactive, and can be viewed and used by all participants. It provides a range of shapes and diagrams, as well as formatting and colouring options. Snapshots of the drawing board can be made and recorded. They can be accessed, viewed and re-used at a later date.

How does Umeeting's application sharing work?

Umeeting's application sharing feature allows for any participant of a web meeting to demonstrate a software running on his/her PC or share his/her entire desktop.

You can use this feature for customer support, demonstrating a new software or to display anything running on your desktop.

What options does the web meeting forum offer?

Moderators of the web meeting can create as many online discussion forums as they wish for each web meeting, enabling continuous communication between the participants outside live sessions.

What options does the web meeting library offer?

Every scheduled web meeting includes a library that can contain all relevant resources and materials as uploaded by moderators or participants. These include uploaded files (which can be of any format: e.g. PowerPoint, Word, spreadsheets, pictures etc.) and web links to relevant resources as well as references (books, articles, etc.).

Moderators and participants can add and upload new public (accessible by all participants) and private files (accessible only by the uploader and the moderators) at any time. The transcripts of the completed live sessions of the web meeting are also stored in the library and participants can access them at any time.

Is using Umeeting secure?

Yes, access to Umeeting through your organisation's Intranet or Extranet is very safe. This is due to various security features such as a password, URL, IP and subnet mask authentication.

Is it possible to connect to Umeeting through a corporate firewall or proxy?

Yes, absolutely. Umeeting is 100% firewall and proxy compatible. This is because all our technology has been engineered to use the same channel that is used when accessing standard Internet web pages.

What are the system and technical requirements for using Umeeting?

Using Umeeting requires a standard web-browser (Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher - Netscape version 4.7 or higher). You will also have to have Javascript and Java enabled in your browser. Using the Internet voice feature requires a sound card and a microphone attached to the PC.

Umeeting is currently not available for Macintosh systems, but we are working to bring you a Macintosh version soon.
